Dukan Diet Pancakes are best used as an ingredient for other, more protein rich, dishes.
This is because the pancakes themselves contain some carbohydrates, and although they are Dukan diet compliant, they should not be consumed just as they are. Use it as a base for delicious meals packed with proteins.
Recipe: Dukan Diet Pancakes
Summary: Great low-fat, low-carb pancakes that you can use as a base for many other dukan diet recipes.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp of mazeine or cornmeal (= 15g)
- ½ glass of non-fat milk (= 125 ml)
- a pinch of salt
- (optional) 1 tbsp of oat bran
Instructions
-
Put all the ingredients into a bowl and mix them well together. The batter becomes watery, but it is ok.
- Preheat the pan over medium heat.
-
Pour the batter on a pan in portions or all of it at once (depending on your pan size and the desired pancake thickness).
-
Fry it at medium heat and make sure the batter is curdled well before turning the pancake over.
Quick notes
Unless intended, don’t fry the batter for too long as it may become hard and crispy, and difficult to fold.
If your cooking skills are not that good, try oiling the pan with a cloth or a piece of paper dipped in paraffin oil or olive oil (just a few drops though). It will facilitate turning the pancakes over. This way or another, it sometimes take a few attempts to learn how to prepare the perfect pancakes. Practice makes the master.
Variations
If you want to be 100% Dukan diet compliant, use no cornmeal. Instead you can use 2 tbsp of grinded to powder oat bran.
